Cold Crab dip
½ Cup Mayonnaise
½ Cup Sour cream
1 1/4 Cup cleaned crab meat or three cans of crab meat, be sure to look for cartridge or shell – reserve ½ cup
4 Green onion finely chopped (white and green portion) – reserve one chopped green onion
1 Celery stalk finely diced
1 teaspoon Bff Kitchen dill or 1 Tablespoon fresh dill
1 Lemon peel finely shredded
1 teaspoon lemon juice
4 Dashes of Chaka’s Mystery hot sauce
In a medium-sized bowl mix together Mayonaise, sour cream, celery stalk, dill, lemon peel and juice, crab (reserving ½ Cup) green onion (reserving one chopped green onion) and four dashes of Chaka’s Mystery hot sauce.
After thoroughly mixed, transfer to a serving bowl, sprinkle flaked crab, and finely chopped green onion. Refrigerate for 2 hours, can be made the day before. Makes a beautiful appetizer during the holidays, especially if you are having a cocktail hour or holiday party.
Serve with water crackers, pita chips or assorted vegetables cut into sticks.
I have tried to use reduced-fat sour cream and mayonnaise, but it is not as creamy. If I am using reduced-fat, I increase the crabmeat
